This would be really versatile, but would the Pioneer H be able to control the Toppy?

This is the 1st remote that I have had that I think will really replace all other IR device remotes.

I agree on the whole with awarring's points but none of them are deal breakers imho. The minor neg point is that you can't generate codes like the pronto to control items that have a learning mode. Remote dimmer switch for example. The Philips is good if you have the original remote for each item. It can learn every button which means you can put away the originals for good.

To comment on some points in previous posts: 1 Batteries: The batteries included with the remote died on the first night after about 90 minutes of programming. I had the screen on full brightness. This is intensive use I would say, not representative of battery requirements for normal day-to-day use. I put in some rechargeables, let's see how long they last with normal use I find the user interface intuitive and helpful.

In approximately 2 hours I installed 4 devices all required learning nearly all keys , set up 2 activities "all on" and "all off" , and programmed approximately 80 channels for the tv guide. Hi all, Received my Scart Commander today and have to say it's superb. Upon release I initially purchased a BT Quintro, but on the whole I was dissapointed with this product and returned it to Keene who's service has been excellent and I paid the extra to upgrade. I found that it was happy with cheapo cables, but good cables with metal scart plugs tended to fall out.

When you put the plugs in the sockets the whole rear of the unit flexed. All audio channels sounded distorted, especially from the Sky box. Even after reducing audio level as I thought the input was overloaded with the Sky boxes 2v op there was noticable distortion in the audio.

If it wasn't for the poor quality this may have been good thing to compensate the plasma , but there was definately a delay between the audio going and in and what came out. To prove the point, if I routed one channel through the BT and one not you got almost a double beat when listing to music e.

Just noticed in the specification. All 4 channels AV inputs certainly auto switched. I think they are saying that the status of both pin 8 and pin 16 are switched from the selected scart input to the scart output. Personally I hate the auto switching and I am so pleased you can switch it off. Maybe I was unlucky with the audio problem on my Quintro? I did think the recording facilities on it were good, but if it compromises quality then what's the point.
