True motion patch ff7

This tutorial is largely focused on Windows 7 as that is what I use, but these instructions should also work on Vista and XP. This method is designed to work with the original game, many pirated copies of this game will NOT work with this tutorial.

This mod is a brilliant piece of programming by Aali from the Qhimm Forums. It translates the graphics instructions from FF7 into OpenGL instructions that most modern graphics cards can understand.

Here is where you can download this. Check the LAST post on that topic probably on page 2. Technically your done. The folks over at the Qhimm forums have been working on this one for a while, but basically what it does is it mutes the midi music and plays a remastered version of the original PSX version of the music in the background.

This gives a closer representation of the original PSX music. The best part of this is that you can change it to play whatever you want. In order to use the ff7music mod you have to first open ff7music, then run the game.

Also if anybody has any questions or problems feel free to check the Qhimm forums for answers or just ask below in the comments. You can follow any responses to this entry through RSS 2. You can leave a response , or trackback from your own site. I tried to download the link for FF7 to install the disk onto my laptop and got it to work, but I caould not download step three.

I cant get the link in the forum to work. Is there another place that I could get it, or can you send it to me? Thanks for the great site.. I could not have done it without your help. It should go away after you start playing the game. I have followed you guide to the letter and you forgot to mention 1 little thing..

But it if works for you then thats good. Hey, when I installed the mods and things, I started FF7 and it said insert CD 1,2 or 3, any ideas on how to solve this problem? There is also some error with shaders and graphic mode, but maybe I simply made some error during patching. Weird glitches have been known to occur if they are enabled. Thank you. It works prefectly. Install FF7 only and choose maximum installation. Hope this helps. I run windows 7 64 bit I have downloaded the ISO files and it installs right and runs right but when I install the ff7 remix it keeps crashing when ever I try to start the game.

Hey Clint, thank you very much for this guide. Runs like a charm! I got everything to work up until step 5. Usually this is permission related. Recheck the permissions for that folder, also try running it as administrator. Nothing happens… hope my explanation make sense. I seemed to have a similar problem with Klingon Academy, I got it to work by restarting windows, try that. I had the exact same problem. Turns out I was wrong. Google Chrome was interfering for who-knows-why with the install, and once I exited Chrome, the installer popped up instantly.

Fixed everything. This fix wont work with any preinstalled or heavily modified version of the game. If the pirated copy you downloaded uses images of the original cds then it should work with this method. Instead of the first page having the newest version, it just has the oldest version. Hey, everything seems to working fine except when I get to the no. Just wondering…is that normal? OK anyone having graphics glitches make sure you have the newest version of the ff7 OpenGL patch. Check the last post on the last page of this topic.

Help please? Hi, i got the game to run, cloud and all NPCs are updated but everything including battle scenes are still boxy. I have downloaded 3 different versions including the most recent and did everything aali said on his forum. The controls work, I clicked on new game and I get a lagging intro screen with Aeries, and Cloud saying his name twice.

When Cloud jumps out of the train, and Barret talks to him the blue chat screen appears but no letters show up. It just blinks back and forth, and not to mention the menu screen is really screwed up as well. Also, would it help to say that I have a G Express Chipset 64mb video card? Is that compatible with this game? You can try changing it to opengl 1. When I try to run the FF7inst.

Any ideas on how to fix this? Try rebooting the computer and try again. Thank God for this page, I have finally got it to work after following at least 10 other guides on this for Windows 7, and was about to give up it.

Nice one. Maybe my CD is scratched That option always crash the installer for me. Anyway, I got it working almost perfectly, things you probably need: TM20 video codec - many places to get it 1. Turn it off for other games.

DiabloII is very laggy and blurred with that option on, in my expirience. Works for me, though sound is slightly bugged, that happened after I installed DirectX 9. When playing the video outside the game, it says that TrueMotion filter needs to be updated.

Hope it works Though my best guess is that my HDD has corrupted, and the particular file just happens to be on a corrupted sector, which means it should work again if I install the game to another drive The beforementioned trick renaming worked, btw.

Or is my computer more buggier than I thought?
